Introduction to Real-World Web Development

This workshop is presented by the Supinfo school of technology. Bring your laptop and get hands-on experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Ajax, jQuery and more. Individual assistance will be available courtesy of Supinfo instructors. Note: Space is limited, so register now and take advantage of this workshop at no additional cost!

The workshop will be given in French and in English. Four progressive levels are available, so you can enter the cycle at the point you feel best matches your technical background.

Level 1: Introduction to HTML & CSS
Level 2: Consuming a REStful Web API with JavaScript
Level 3: Creating an offline Web app with HTML5
Level 4: A TodoList Development: Real-time management of server push data with HTML5 Server Sent Events

Each session will be formatted in a way that lets you really practice the implementation of the topic on your own computer. You’ll receive individual help from bilingual assistants who will stay in the middle of the audience. On stage, full time instructors will transmit all their knowledge in the same way they do for Supinfo students, graduates in 1-5 year programs.

On Saturday 17 November, we will be providing a lab space to show off awesome projects using JavaScript and other awesome Web technologies that are on their way to stardom. This is your opportunity to let your project be known, network with other developers, journalists, and JavaScript enthusiasts, and maybe even recruit for your team.
